Content Guidelines

Last Update: 17th September 2025

These Content Guidelines exist to set clear expectations around what types of content align with the spirit of Quibble, and where we draw the line when it comes to unacceptable or harmful content.

These are not legally binding rules, but rather they help creators understand our review process and inform decisions about which submissions are accepted onto the platform. For our binding policies, refer to the Publishing Terms (Coming Soon) .

Content We're Looking For

We value original, thoughtful, and intentional stories created by the submitting author.

We look for content that reflects originality, authorship, and intention. We value creative work that brings something meaningful, whether it being artistic, emotional, cultural, or intellectual, to readers.

We welcome stories that offer fresh perspectives, explore underrepresented experiences, and thoughtfully engage with the world around them. Writing should be clear, coherent, and formatted in a way that supports a positive reading experience. We do not expect perfection, but we do expect thoughtfulness and integrity.

Submissions should be created by the user applying to publish them and must not be copied, repurposed, or submitted on someone else's behalf without proper rights.

Content That's Not Allowed

Plagiarism, gratuitous explicit content, hate speech, harassment, or extremist material are not accepted.

Certain types of content violate the standards of the platform and may not be considered for publication on the platform:

  • Plagiarized work or content that infringes on someone else's intellectual property
  • Visual content, including explicit sex scenes presented without narrative purpose
  • Excessive violence or abuse, especially where it is graphic, sensationalized, or lacks sufficient narrative justification
  • Hate speech, including content that promotes racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or violence against marginalized groups
  • Harassment or threats, including targeted abuse toward individuals, communities, or readers
  • Politically inflammatory or ideologically extreme content, including works that advocate for the oppression, denial of existence, or displacement of entire groups of people, or that reduce complex political conflicts to harmful, one-sided narratives

Quibble reserves the right to assess context when making decisions about content. What may be appropriate in one narrative might not be in another.

Handling Sensitive Content

Use clear warnings for sensitive themes. Avoid gratuitous trauma and write responsibly.

We understand that storytelling often involves complex or heavy topics. Authors should:

  • Use clear content warnings for material that includes themes like abuse, self-harm, violence, or sexual assault
  • Avoid gratuitous or exploitative depictions of trauma
  • Write responsibly when addressing real-world issues or events

Quibble may restrict or label certain stories to protect readers. Content warnings don't excuse a violation of our standards, but they do allow readers to make informed choices.

AI-Generated Content

AI-assisted writing must be disclosed. Work should show genuine human creativity and effort.

We believe in transparency and authenticity. If your story or significant portions of it were created with the help of AI tools, we ask that you clearly disclose this during the submission process. While we do not prohibit AI-assisted writing, we reserve the right to limit visibility or promotional support for work that appears misleading, derivative, or produced with minimal human input.

Quibble exists to elevate human creativity. Our in-house editorial team carefully reviews every submission not only for quality, but also for originality, intentionality, authorship, and effort. When reviewing AI-assisted work, we pay close attention to whether the writing demonstrates a genuine creative contribution. Work that feels formulaic, indistinguishable from mass-generated content, or lacking a human voice is unlikely to be approved or actively promoted on the platform.

At its core, Quibble is about storytelling that reflects real thought, emotion, and perspective. AI can be a tool but it should never replace the writer behind the work.

Artwork and Visual Content

Artwork must be original or licensed. AI-generated visuals are not permitted.

Visual elements such as cover art, character illustrations, or environment art are an important part of storytelling on Quibble. When submitting content that includes artwork, creators must ensure that all visuals are either original, properly licensed, or created with explicit permission from the artist. You should be able to demonstrate your right to use any visual content included with your submission.

Just as with writing, AI-generated artwork is not permitted. Our editorial team reserves the right to restrict or reject content that relies on AI-generated visuals.

Submissions with low-effort or uncredited visuals will likely be declined. Quibble values artistic integrity just as highly as written creativity, and we treat both with the same level of editorial care.

Reporting and Enforcement

Report violations through in-app tools or Discord. Enforcement ranges from labels to removal or suspension.

If you come across content that appears to violate these guidelines, you can report it directly through our in-app tools or by contacting our moderation team on our Discord server. Every report is taken seriously. Quibble's editorial and moderation teams assess each case based on the specific context and the severity of the issue.

When necessary, we may respond by limiting the visibility of content, applying warning labels, restricting certain account functions, or removing the content entirely. In cases of repeated or particularly serious violations, we may suspend the account involved. These actions are taken at our discretion to maintain the integrity of the platform and protect the community as a whole.

These Guidelines May Evolve

Guidelines will change as Quibble grows. Revisit them regularly for updates.

Quibble is a living platform. As Quibble's community grows and changes, so may these guidelines. We encourage all users and creators to revisit them from time to time. If you ever have questions or want clarity, we're here to help.
